Shipping & Delivery FAQ

Everything you need to know about how your Grounded Mushrooms order gets to your door fresh, cold, and on schedule.

The short version

There are three ways to get your order:

  • Local delivery (central Indiana): $5 flat, no minimum. We deliver through Market Wagon.
  • Midwest shipping (IN, OH, KY, IL, MI, WI): $15 flat on orders $54 to $179.99, and FREE at $180+. Minimum order is a 3-pack ($54).
  • Mushroom extracts (shelf-stable): ship across the continental U.S., with shipping calculated at checkout.

Frozen Midwest shipments go out Mondays and Tuesdays (arriving within FedEx's 2-day window, before the weekend). Local delivery runs Tuesdays and Thursdays.

How does local delivery work?

If you're in our central Indiana area, your order is delivered through Market Wagon, our local food delivery partner, for a flat $5, no minimum. Our local area covers Marion County (Indianapolis) and the surrounding counties of Boone, Clinton, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Henry, Johnson, Madison, Morgan, Shelby, and Tipton (about 200 ZIP codes). Enter your zip at checkout to confirm you're in the zone. Local Market Wagon deliveries go out on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Where do you ship?

Frozen products (steaks & nuggets) ship to Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Illinois, Michigan, and Wisconsin via FedEx Ground, which reaches these states within two days of Indianapolis. Mushroom extracts, which are shelf-stable, ship throughout the continental U.S. year-round, any day of the week.

Is there a minimum order?

Frozen shipping has a 3-pack minimum (orders start at $54). There's no minimum for local delivery or for extracts.

How do you ship my order and keep it cold?

Frozen orders are packed in a cardboard box with an insulated liner, a thicker liner in the warm months (May to September) and a thinner one in cool weather (October to April), along with gel packs to keep everything frozen through transit. Because frozen shipments go out early in the week, your order spends as little time in transit as possible and arrives before the weekend.

I just placed an order, when can I expect it to arrive?

Frozen Midwest shipments go out Mondays and Tuesdays only, via FedEx, so they arrive within two days and never sit in a warehouse over a weekend. Orders placed Wednesday through Sunday ship the following Monday. Local deliveries go out Tuesdays and Thursdays. Once your order ships, a tracking number is sent to the email address on your order. Extracts are shelf-stable and ship any day of the week. Please plan to receive your order on the delivery date and refrigerate or freeze it promptly on arrival. Grounded Mushrooms is responsible for your shipment up to the first delivery attempt.

How much does shipping cost?

  • Local delivery: $5 flat, no minimum.
  • Midwest frozen shipping: $15 flat on orders $54 to $179.99; free on orders $180 and up.
  • Extracts: shipping is calculated at checkout based on your address.

What if my order partially thaws in transit?

A little thawing isn't a problem. We pack to keep everything cold, but in the warmer months some thawing can happen. If your order arrives cold but partially thawed, keep it refrigerated and, per our product labels, use it within 5 days. Some thawing is normal and does not mean the product is unsafe. We do not guarantee that products will arrive fully frozen.

What if my order arrives damaged, warm, or spoiled?

If your order arrives damaged, warm to the touch, or spoiled, contact us within 48 hours of delivery at sales@groundedmushrooms.com with your order number and a photo. We'll arrange a replacement or a refund for the affected items. This is different from normal partial thawing described above. See our Refund Policy for full details.

Do you accept returns or exchanges?

We do not accept returns or exchanges. All sales are final.

Can I make changes to or cancel my order?

We're happy to accommodate changes to your order. However, any requested change will result in an 8% fee of the credited total.

Why is there a fee for changing or canceling my order?

We're charged payment processing fees when you place your order. If a change results in a refund, those fees aren't credited back to us, so the 8% covers what we've already paid to process the original transaction.

What if I entered the wrong shipping address?

We ship to the address provided at checkout. We accept no liability or responsibility for packages misdelivered due to customer error, so please double-check your address before ordering.
